Simplify.
Yah...I know. I've been gone awhile. But, you know...that happens when you have a life.
And now that I'm back...there's a reason.
I've got a focus. A Singular Focus. Okay...it's not really singular....it's quite multi-faceted.
And it isn't new. For anyone really. Not even me.
But, I lose sight of it ALL. THE. TIME.
It's time to declutter. Time to simplify my life. Things have gotten crazy - overwhelming - out-of hand.
It happens to the best of us.
As a working mom, it happens to me ALL. THE. TIME.
So, I'm starting, not with a resolution, but with a focus for this year.
Simplify.
And as I do, I'm going to share my steps. I don't know if it will matter to you at all. Or if it even should. You aren't me. Maybe simplifying to me is complicating to you. Who knows?
Tonight...I'm starting by simplifying my blogs. I'm taking down everything that doesn't matter. I'm removing distractions. The writing is the point...not all the other crap. And I invest sooooooo much time on the other crap.
Time I don't have. Time better spent on other things that matter.
So...here goes.
Decluttering - phase #1 - The Internet
Step one - my blogs
Entails - taking down widgets, unnecessary links...
Step two - social media
Entails - pairing down to the people that matter...I even considered an end to FB...but there are actually people there with whom I'd like to remain in contact.
Clarity
Coming down from the God-awful manic phase, I think (I hope). These come downs have odd moments of clarity. The conclusion this time? I really need to cut down on my Internet usage outside of work (might be easier to do on weekends). I'm not getting enough "self time" and pinging the internet constantly for information/validation is going to make me snap (moreso). Hopefully by doing this I'll have a more consistent baseline and time to myself; that, and maybe I'll have more realistic expectations about dating and finding someone (long story).
sometimes you just get lost in this social media madness...
Myself.
I read the word "windpipe" as "Wikipedia" someone disconnect my internet.
I haven't even been online an hour and I have 13 tabs open. O.o
you know those times when going on the internet makes you feel like shit but you can't help it?
