John and Paul are like the cool kids in high school. And Ringo and George want to be cool too. So they do that thing where they're super mean to each other whenever John and Paul are around to impress them, but when they leave they're best friends again and like “woah what happened”. George especially does this. Whenever Paul and John tell him to do something horrible to Ringo, he will. These are usually things he would never do or say to him if Paul and John weren't around. Ringo doesn’t actively do this, but he’s afraid to speak out against John and Paul’s cruel actions towards George. Ringo will normally help George if he’s in trouble, unless John and Paul caused it or are observing. John and Paul don’t really care if the other two live or die (quite literally). They only care about each other and even that’s a stretch. John cares about Paul a little more than Paul does for him, generally. This is because Paul only cares about himself and being better than everyone else. 

Now, keep in mind that the characters change episode by episode. George especially is an empty husk that is reformed every episode. All the beatles have only a slight bit of actually characterization to them and they do things that are ooc frequently.
