I've been having so much anxiety lately I want to go to RIT so bad for the ASLIE program and I'm wondering what your opinion is of ill get in or not ...I have a 3.3 GPA and a 28 on my ACT I'm in AP English and I do a ton of student government and I have lots of volunteer hours... I do other extra curriculars but I was wondering what your HS GPA and ACT was to get in
Hi! I’m so sorry I didn’t see this until now, I was without internet for a while. Yay for you wanting to go to RIT for Interpreting! In high school I had an ACT score of 27 and a GPA of 3.6, but it’s not so much about the numbers as it is the essay and the letters of recommendation. From what you’ve told me, it sounds like you have a good start with extra-curriculars and such. Something you should know about the program that has changed since I was accepted: if you have not taken ASL classes before, that’s okay! BUT, to make up for that, you will have to take a summer class the summer between your freshman and sophomore years. They do this so that everyone is on basically the same level of fluency beginning sophomore year. I hope this info isn’t a game changer for you! If you want to talk more about RIT and the interpreting program, my inbox is open. Feel free to come off anon and I can answer you privately if you want, but its totally okay if you want to stay anonymous.
