The almighty Great Escape Festival is happening in our local town of Brighton a week from now and we've secured ourselves some press tickets, thanks to Northbrook College. Just as well seeing as all tickets are sold out! We hope you got yours...
In the run up to the festival, we will be posting our pics from the lineup who are definitely worth checking out. The Great Escape is famous for showcasing the best, new up and coming acts, so we're sure we'll be seeing a few of these relatively unknowns headlining next year's festival circuits - just look where the band on everyone's lips at last year's Great Escape, Alt-J, have ended up!

Introducing Demob Happy, a four piece band of Geordie’s who have smashed the shit out of Brighton’s music scene since washing up here in 2010. If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if The Strokes and Death From above (1979) formed a super group this is sort of what it would sound like. The band's sound encompasses a mixture of new and classic sounds that can only be described as ‘cool as fuck’ whether you’re experiencing it live or listening to the record.
Think Blues meets Punk on some sort of mathematical terms. Then add some well crafted vocal harmonies, a ton of originality and an unbeatable band chemistry that any other group of musicians would quite literally kill for, and we arrive at Demob Happy. If you love real guitar music then this is definitely the band for you, and the best thing about them is that they never stop gigging!
Without giving them a real thorough arse licking, there is nothing more I can say about this band. Just go see them live and prepare yourself for a beautiful ear bashing, they’re bound to be playing near you soon enough!
People of Brighton, get your tiny arses down to their next show, we're all going! We can almost guarantee that you wont be able to understand a word they say in between songs, and wont be able to name a better band afterwards!
