Content notice: dyadism, anti- ambulatory disability microaggression, and reference to nonconsensual medical and surgical procedures. End of content notice. Reposted caption: "Stop forced medical interventions on intersex children Today (10/26/16) is Intersex awareness day. We stand together against unnecessary and harmful medical practices. For Intersex rights. Intersex; we who are born with bodies that are considered not typically male or female. People with intersex traits are subjected to forced medical interventions from early ages, so called “normalizing” surgeries/hormonal treatments. Share this post to show your solidarity with the intersex community and to show that you support intersex rights, as the right to informed consent before medical interventions. I am saving up content to crash the Internet with the tag #interseXXY, in the hopes some body-positive intersexed folk will find me and want to share stories. I don't want to keep seeking community in trans* spaces when I know there are other intersexed folk out here. If you want to jump start the conversation, message me! This could also make for an excellent zine, y'all. Anything from the beauty of an ever-changing chest to queer smut. I'd be down to publish it if only there were other people to submit. (Can I do this alone?)
Inter/Act is so proud of Pidgeon, Alice, Emily, and Saifa for telling the world their stories in this buzzfeed video. Show them some love!!
