The puddle of her blood stretched out before Julia like a rising sun. Despite being his enemy and having killed the love of his life, Olrox granted Julia a beautiful death. She looked so serene, with only a crimson stab wound nestled between her breasts, while the rest of her remained untouched. Olrox, an unforgiving force of nature, possessed the power to make her suffer, to prolong her dying moments, to torture her. Yet, he offered her a swift exit; he could have executed it with excruciating pain or disfigured her corpse or simply kicked it aside after her demise. Instead, he left her as she was.
It’s not like it’s above Olrox to mistreat a corpse as he has done it two times already with aristocrats.
He casually picks up the marquis’s head after Richter dispatched him and flirts playfully with Mizrak.
How he messily eats the blood from the aristocrat and discards his body after use.
Yes, he stepped over Julia’s body, but he didn’t kick her aside; bet merely stepped over her. I highly doubt he afforded the same dignity simply because she’s a woman. Not that they were lovers—considering Olrox’s obvious preferences—but close friends and allies. Even when he speaks about her, he doesn’t boost when Mizrak presses him for details. Instead, he talks about his lover who was proud of his community and culture, while Julia is only a footnote in that narratives. He doesn’t seem particularly sad about killing her; it’s just how things are. Other vampires would’ve have gleefully told stories about killing a Belmont but Olrox doesn’t.
Olrox is far more dignified that way, and I’m banking on Olrox was pretty close with Julia Belmont.
The whole purpose of climbing something is to affect some sort of spiritual and physical gain. But if you compromise the process, you’re an asshole when you start out and you’re an asshole when you get back.”
