waylon breaks the silence, and eddie knows he's been caught — he knows that his husband is right, too. he is going to end up spoiling her. there is no point in denying it. eddie glances up at waylon from where he lingers in the doorway, a guilty smile on his lips. “ you got me there, ” he replies, setting his pencil down against his sketchbook. the designs that eddie had been so painstakingly working away at? little dresses, intended for the baby girl that is currently resting in the crook of his left arm, for when she gets older.
she won't need them all, by no means, but it's fun to think about.
he looks down, the sight of her sleeping form enough to make his chest ache. this baby girl with her bright blue eyes and her little bit of blonde hair. she looks more like waylon, in his opinion — but whenever her eyes are open, eddie knows exactly which of the two of them that exact shade of blue came from.
waylon approaches them from behind, a hand gently laid against eddie's shoulder. the tailor presses a kiss to said hand, and then leans back until his head is resting against waylon's torso, his gaze still not leaving their daughter. “ don't you think she deserves it, though? to be spoiled just a little bit? ”
the thing is though, they're both guilty of spoiling her : one of them is almost always holding her, as if they are afraid she'll disappear if they let go of her. it's to be expected, after the things they've been through. technically, they're still on the run, after all. murkoff haunts this house, even without finding them — and there is nothing that eddie wants to do more than keep their daughter safe from all of that.
“ she's never going to have a normal life — a princess dress or two might help with that. ”
