I’m assuming it’s because Lauren getting in trouble was so close to recording & unexpected the writers had to pull something out of thin air. So I guess maybe in some alternate universe when Lauren didn’t get drunk and verbally assault a cab driver, they were sent away to Africa anyway?

I don’t know either. Maybe they were just.. interested in each other, or maybe it has something to do with her dad’s business. At the end I got the impression Dylan was a bit worried about Norman getting his heart broken by her.

I actually like Teen Titans Go. People should stop comparing it to the original show (despite how tempting it is) and just view it as a clever, humorous show because it is. That's my opinion.
