That’s how I felt when I started working in 3D, so I get it :/ I was used to whipping stuff out in a few hours and that’s just not possible with 3D haha So I def see where you’re coming from
Yeah, it's like all of my professors say "It's good that you're struggling, you're learning!" but then they go around kiss the asses of the students who are experienced in a particular medium and then kiss your ass if you're experience in a different medium because it's about the product. I just can't make an amazing product when I'm doing it for the first time!
It's just weird being in class because it's like: "LISTEN TO YOUR PROFESSORS," "DO YOUR OWN WORK," "DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO OTHER STUDENTS," "BE COMPETITIVE."
It's just... learning a new medium is hard and it's going to take a while before I know how to approach it to make unique artwork that's actually decent, but the teachers are expecting it like RIGHT NOW.
