The fact Xaden considers it the first time she kissed him (not the other way around) because he’s an intinnsic, so he heard her “ask him” even if he technically moved in first.
Thinking back to when Liam says “I think she means it” and Xaden goes “I know” he literally knows because he can read intentions (not that this scene is that hard to read… Violet is clearly ready to live up to her nickname & fuming with fury) but there’s some sort of heartbreak & yet another foreshadowing (pun semi-intended) moment in this… also once again he literally tells her he can read her mind (even if it’s just a manner of speech).
