i loved payback so much !! it was so deeply fucked up that it made me think of a possible one shot where harry’s the one getting betrayed (🤭). like what if harry finds out his gf slept with another man and he’s absolutely devastated she cheated on him but instead of breaking up with her (like she suspects) he tries to redeem himself by fucking her like he’s never done before !! i love the thought of him being so in love and pathetic that he viewed getting cheated on as his fault (not being good enough for her) rather than being angered and dumping her.

Oooh interesting! You're right. There are plenty of fics where Harry cheats but not with reader cheating. That could be super angsty too. People would really hate Y/n tho. I could maybe do something with this idea. But it might be something where Harry fucks her like she's never been before, blows her mind (she already regrets cheating) and THEN he breaks up with her. I'm not sure I can redeem a cheater (Y/n or Harry) and make the story a HEA.

Whenever you want to and are able can we please get more of MCC (mint chocolate chip)? That’s one I go back to and read and I have been craving for a new part of their lives. I always make up scenarios in my head about all your storylines and different characters (that is very normal, I know we all do it) and I just miss them. I’ll take anything you want to give us! Maybe it’s a mundane day for them. Maybe it’s the day Harry and her are really ready for kids so he takes her off the pill and they put in the work until the tests are positive. Maybe his family/friends come over to visit as a complete surprise with no warning and she’s the one who opened the door. Maybe one of them gets sick and the other has to take care of them. Maybe she sees a happy family in a show or outside (while Harry is there obviously, that man would put her in the backpack leashes if they wouldn’t get stares) and starts wanting that, missing her family, wanting a family. Maybe she wants some freedoms such as driving the car to wherever they are going. We will take anything you give us, whenever you want to give it to us. It doesn’t even have to be any of these, these are just the thoughts off the top of my head at the moment. Thank you for writing yummy treats for us, sunshine

Turns out I was much better at saving files in a structure that makes sense when I was ten than I am now.

A comparison...

(If you're wondering why I censored a couple of chapter names, it's because I named a character the G-slur in the drafts I wrote when I was 8-11ish. For the purpose of this blog she will be known as G-slur.)

Around sixteen years ago, my sister and I discovered Limewire and downloadable custom content for The Sims 2 and we managed to brick the family computer, losing everything I’d ever written.

(Take this as a reminder to back up your shit.)

At the time I wasn’t too concerned. Sure it was a bit sad, but I hadn’t written a new draft of what was then called Dying Screams in around a year. No big loss. I’d have abandoned it eventually anyway.

But unlike the screams, this story wouldn’t die, and I rewrote it in 2011 with an updated plot because what I could remember of the old one was that it was childish.

We’ll get to that later. Skipping ahead to 2019, I was clearing out a desk in my parents’ house when I found a relic from another time:

The thing had been in a drawer for years and was scratched as hell, but somehow still worked. It wasn't everything. The timestamps show that I probably backed up my files to this disc around 2005.

(Again, BACK UP YOUR SHIT. MORE OFTEN THAN ONCE EVERY FEW YEARS.)

What it did contain is two drafts of the "novel" I wrote when I was 8-10 years old, as well as half-written sequels, blurbs for the books, quizzes about the characters, and empty folders I made very optimistically to fill with files related to the movie adaptation I was apparently going to make.

It also contained a book cover.

Since finding the files, I've skimmed through but haven't properly read them. Now I'm trying to distract myself from the fact that a query for another novel I've written, completely unrelated to this one, is sitting in the inboxes of literary agents, it's finally time to return to them.

I hope you enjoy this self-indulgent nonsense.

The year is 2002. You are eight years old. You’ve been writing stories since before you could write, meaning you would narrate them to your mum and make her write them down for you. It wasn’t ideal, as by the time she had finished you would have come up with a new idea that changed everything, but that was fine. Rewriting a story because you’ve decided that the protagonists are now fairies shouldn’t take that long. Even if they were originally dogs.

Your main interests are Lord of the Rings, the Chronicles of Narnia, a popular children’s book series I will refer to as Redacted, and Tomb Raider. You spend most of your time in your own head, imagining yourself in the worlds of your favourite stories. You start writing about a world where you and Lara Croft are friends. Then you stop, because you’re not sure if you’re allowed to write stories about existing characters. Somehow, you are very concerned about copyright law, but never once stumbled onto the existence of fanfiction. Probably because you were only allowed on the internet for 30 minutes a day.

So you decide to come up with your own idea. Something that combines everything you love about your favourite books, films and games. You daydream about magic. About terrifyingly powerful women. About adventure. About creating your own fantastical lore and beings. You write a book called Bronze’s Diary, about an orphaned girl who wakes in a grand, old house and discovers she has been taken there for her own protection, as a centuries-old feud threatens her life. The reason for the feud: Bronze’s family discovered a world within our own, populated by people with wings and four arms, whose magic holds the secret of everlasting life. Protecting this secret has painted targets on their backs. Bronze fights her way to find that magical land herself, falls in love, reunites with her parents.

Then you scratch all that and write a book about Bronze’s granddaughter saving the world.

And you write it again. And again. And again. Now, twenty-three years later, you want to rewrite it again. But first, you’re going to read through all of your old drafts and make jokes about them on the internet, because writers will do literally anything instead of writing.

I don't know if you are familiar with the term "La petit mort" (If you are not it just translate to "the little death" it's an expression that refers to a brief loss or weakening of consciousness, and in modern usage refers specifically to a post-orgasm sensation) it actually happened to me once but i think it would be so cool to read it in any of the fics or one-shots or blurbs or anything haha. 💖
