Dark of night
O dark of night
What sweet sorrows do you bring tonight?
I bring you a girl
Devoid of day
An empty husk with no breath to steal away
Sorrows sweet sorrows you lift up your song
But she’s accepted her role and the night is now wrong
She calls herself a demon
One of apathy and spite
As she lays all alone
With only a pillow in the night
To sate her souls call
To quell her heart’s longing
But we know so much better
Her silent cries of belonging
Silent in the day
Drowned by dreams of night
She chooses to be alone
And therefor drowns in her plight
Dark of night
O dark of night
The sweet sorrows that you bring
You’re their savior and condemner
In the peace that out true rings
You’re the sharpest of two blades
With the privacy you give
You smother flames of passion down
And ware on will to live
But dark of night
Sweet dark of night
In the solitude you shell
You’ve provided me salvation
In the life that you’ve made hell
