in 2013 I started listening to a then new podcast called Food Psych. the host @chr1styharrison felt like a cooler older sister. after years of disordered eating herself, Christy now ate intuitively, didn’t overthink it, and shared other people’s bizarre food habits on her show. I could relate, so on my first solo visit to New York, I navigated myself on the F train to her apartment deep in Brooklyn to tell my bizarre food story on her show. I showed up at her door with cookies and we’ve been friends ever since. over the years: I watched her meet her husband, danced at their wedding, vented about podcasting (we even have the same editor for our shows, hi mike!). she was the first expert I interviewed for @letapodcastout — she’s given me some of the best advice in: dating, talked me through moving to New York, researched places for me to start improv, edited my essays—but above all, her best advice came, when I was afraid to tell her I was struggling againnn with body & food. rather than making me feel bad or like I should know better, she was gentle, smart, and said what I needed to hear. >> you can get advice from her too…today I’m reading an early copy of her book. here are 3 reasons why you should preorder it:: >> 1. It is so well researched and written while also easy to read & digestible. You can hear her conversational voice throughout. 2. I make a cameo on page 154 where she tells an embarrassing story about how diet culture stole my life & money. (I was going to post it here but you’ll have to get the book to read it.) 3. I’ll actually be joining her on her book-tour in 2020 as her hype-girl—interviewing her in cities all over. #antidiet #foodpsych #christyharrison #intuativeeating (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0MKgWEAePA/?igshid=9wo3jr20k3et
