@The mod that answered that, I'm just kinda curious; were you a neutral or anti before being a shipper? Sorry if this is intrusive or anything, just wanted to ask! I've only ever really known shippers, so I'm curious is all!

I was a neutral pre-yashahime; I actively disliked sessrin (was more aligned to the familial view of it) but had nothing against it's shippers and those who enjoyed it, I just wasn't intending on interacting with them. Pre-Episode 15 (hell, pre-episode 1) I was pretty much like "Eh, Rin is gonna be the mom, that sucks, but I'm watching this for Towa really soooo..." And at the time I was already increasingly uncomfortable by the sheer amount of people posting their untagged hate (has it gotten any better? I have like half the fandom blocked, so) and when asking on anon to a fairly prominent anti "Hey, could you just maybe also tag something like #anti yashahime/#yashahime negative for blacklisting purposes?" They responded with, well, using... literally every single yashahime tag to show up in as many tags and searches as possible.

I had hoped after the big reveal that things would get to normalish. Like, the tags would just be an active warzone for a few weeks then I could come back with the fandom more mellowed out... you can probably guess how that went? And then seeing the most utterly outlandish claims against the "other side" naturally roused my suspicion, especially the idea of sessrin shippers hiring... private investigators to dox anti-shippers? Really?

I just started progressively realizing the best way to enjoy Yashahime and get Towa content was to gradually follow more tumblr blogs and twitter accounts that were active shippers, and well; I guess it rubbed off! I've always been the kind of person who ships things with very little requirements, so just seeing lots of wonderful fanart and people was more than enough for me~ And I can't say I've regretted even a day of it! I still get lots of inukag content on my dash and tl, and now it's people who like both Inuyasha and Yashahime... so here I am now, a full fledged shipper, just waiting for s2!

I am not a Sessrin shipper really (have never shipped Sesshomaru with anyone,) but I’m honestly so tired of the war over it that’s been raging for the past year. It’s made it very difficult to participate in the fandom, so more power to you guys for staking out a positive place.

Oh! Thanks for the opportunity! This blog is mostly run by me, Mod Towa, but if Mod Rin sees this I hope she shares something too!

I suppose for me- well there's a few things I could share, but as of late, it's guess that I don't entirely agree with a lot of us about Kagura having zero impact in Sesshomaru's development; although I don't see it as romantic or quite how people who ship that do, I still view it as an important scene and moment in Sesshomaru's life- something I'm pretty sure RT feels the same with.

I think it was an important sign that he felt sympathy and care at all. Earlier in the series I don't think he would have cared... at all? Tenseiga was just some tool left behind by his father he despised and hated. As the series progressed during his adventures with Rin in particular he discovered compassion, and multiple times (although some where anime only, like the Panther Tribe and Sara Asano -who I stan-) showed a willingness to use Tenseiga despite having no obligation to do so or at least showing sympathy for others in his own stoic way (like with Sara Asano). While I don't believe his feelings were romantic in nature, it's clear that he respected her and her desire to be free enough to want to aid her with Tenseiga, and when he could not chose to stay and comfort her and prove her death was not in vain to Moryomaru after his spiteful comments.

Kagura is a really great character and while I may not ship them romantically, I personally don't fully agree with the idea that some shippers have that her death had zero impact and that he didn't give a single shit about it. To me, the sign that he did care at all was a sign of his growth as a man, from this spiteful spoiled child in the body of an adult to someone who would actively fight and protect others, a metamorphosis made possible through his experiences with Rin and Tenseiga and conflict with Naraku, and that his clear sympathy towards Kagura was the proof that he was truly ready to walk the path to actualize his true power.

And that's my take! Ty for giving me the opportunity to speak <3

One of the best things about Rin is she always befriends and helps women no matter their species or background and doesn't judge them: Kagome, Sango, Kaede, Kagura, the women in the village about to give birth, etc. which fits what the definition of what feminism should be: being supportive of all types of women. I think she would also be very supportive of the types of women her kids choose to be

As an InuKag shipper who also appreciates SessRin, I am not fond of the anon saying they are toxic. They’ve had their issues, yes, but toxic is not the word to use here.

You can love SessRin but don’t drag down in the mud a ship that people love. The antis do that. Also, labelling all InuKag shippers that way is rude. I’m really tired of reading that. I would like to enjoy SessRin without fellow shippers bashing my other ship.

I just want to say that I love Sessrin and Inukag ❤️ I’m a new shipper and I’m glad I found this safe space. I found out tumblr can be very toxic. So thanks to the mods! I’ll share some other confessions in the future :)

As much as I think both sides have stuff they need to work on, I’m getting tired of this fandom war.

I don’t ship SessRin. I don’t really care for the ship, but I just want to scroll in peace on the Yashahime and Inuyasha tag, without the drama.

It’s literally everywhere. I was this close to leaving the fandom but I want to see how things will unfold in the second season. If I shared this thoughts on the other blog, I would be ripped apart. People are taking it too far.

I have a feeling Towa and Kagome would be besties! Finally, Kagome will have someone understanding what she’s talking about when they talk about the Reiwa Era. Oh and you know what, Towa might know more because Kagome won’t know about smartphones. I can’t wait to see both families reunited!!!
