“Listen to me.”
“I want to sleep.”
“No, shut up and listen because I’m only going to say this once.”
Naruto groaned in annoyance but he turned to his side and propped his head up with his elbow, pulling the sheets up to his chest. “What?”
“I love you,” Kiba immediately said and Naruto’s eyes widened, “and so this isn’t just sex for me, I genuinely love you and so this is more than that. And this is the only time I’ll say it because I don’t want to say it because it makes me feel vulnerable and weak and I don’t want to feel like that. But you should know. Now go to sleep.”
With that, Kiba turned over onto his other side, facing away from Naruto, and tried to go to sleep. But he couldn’t; he felt Naruto’s gaze on him, a steady, penetrating look from the other’s blue eyes.
“…Kiba?” he called softly and the Inuzuka gave a soft grunt to let him know he was listening.
“…I love you too.”
He didn’t sit back up because he heard Naruto lay down, the sheets rustling. But after a moment of silence, he moved again, this time closer to him and Kiba couldn’t help but smile slightly, feeling the other so near him.
I could get used to this.
