@oh-no-its-bird got me thinking abt Hikari's death so here you go

Hikari dies during either the second or third shinobi war. She makes a deal with her sponsor kami.

The deal, essentially, is that in return for ensuring her clansmen's (yes this includes ninken) bodies will always be recovered, and the promis to shield them from the worst of the pain, Hikari must be the one to reap their souls and guide them to the pure lands.

To Hikari, this is a no brainer. shes so obsessed with her clan that being there for each and every one of their deaths, being able to support them and make sure the two halves (nin & ken) stay together is her calling. if this were practically anyone else, it'd feel like an eternity of emotionally taxing labor.

I didnt rlly want her to just have a random shinigami (theyre cool, but like, Aki got Jizo... cmon.)

uhh smth smth different clans having different religions from asia. Will try to flesh that out later, maybe add it to the rewriting konoha clan lore tag

shinobi and ninken's souls and lifelines and everything are so intertwined that theyre essentially two halves of a whole.

Tamotsu (Aki's dad) is THE spy/infiltratior. his "spy network" is just him, himself, and 3,000 more hims.

this is because he reverse engineered the shadow clone jutsu. ... sorta. he did it Very Wrong. so incorrectly that its actually an entirely different thing now.

he doesn't make them by splitting his chakra. instead he shares it. so theyre like that one forest thats actually just one tree. they can all grab from the og pool of chakra and add to it (harder than taking tho). the clones can send info between themselves (and the og) through this method.

Introducing this disaster of a man- according to both Tobirama and Izuna, their wives think he’s perfectly acceptable for an Inuzuka

Aoi is the same age as Tobirama and Izuna, he’s friends with their wives(them too but neither is willing to admit they’re friends with the same man) and trainer of Kaede’s seeing eye dog Hime

He’s pretty chill, for an Inuzuka, is good for gossip and making tea

Flirts with both Tobirama and Izuna to fuck with them, is one of like four people Michiko trusts enough to call a friend

Tells outlandish stories that most assuredly didn’t happen - sometimes, sometimes he's telling the whole thing

Is missing a leg, had a prosthetic and uses a cane- had threatened to bop ‘bad’ kids upside the head with it more than once

also he might have raised Jiraiya... unintentionally - but someone had to step up after his drifter son ran off and pack is still pack at the end of the day
