My Oshi Wants to Be My Watson?!

I've been watching Tamon's B-side lately (I spedran the manga, but I haven't read the latest volume) so I really wanted to do an fan/idol, oshikatsu (possibly Tamon's B-side redraw) piece. So here's a sketch that I ended up coloring<3

It's not a fully fledged au but here's some things I did cook up;

Shinichi's still a detective, Kaito's just an all around entertainer. He's still mainly a magician but he's invited to act and sing like a Lot.

Shinichi's like, a massive Kaito fanboy (are we surprised), like full on merch shrine type, probably runs a fan account

I'd imagine Shinichi is investigating a case that Kaito is somewhat related to but for the sake of professionalism he shoves the fanboy all down

So we get normal, prissy, questioning your life decisions Shinichi

But plot twist, Kaito is also a Shinichi fan (same) but since he doesn't wanna weird Shinichi out he also keeps his mouth shut (I'd like to imagine people (Aoko, possibly Hakuba) have told him how weird it is that he gets hot and bothered when Shinichi happens to show his smarts on camera)

He also has a Shinichi shrine (though it's smaller, cause Shinichi's not exactly an idol) (probably homemade)

Kaito is only a minor witness (or like, a very improbable suspect) to the case, and is proved to be unrelated to it afterwards

For reasons, Kaito is on hiatus

So, Shinichi finds himself being followed around by Kaito, who is now the self-proclaimed "Watson to Shinichi's Holmes"

So yeah! I don't really have like a case in mind, cause I'm not. I'm. Mystery hard to imagine. I don't know, I just want them to have that traditional pissing each other off Kaishin dynamic but also freak4freak. They're so obsessed with each other. I'd say Kaito more so, because like why is your bias just a detective. That's like me pointing to my security guard and saying, yeah that's my oshi.

Oh and have another version because I couldn't decide which looked better

The concept of a fan giving Shinichi a Kaitou KID nui.......Kaito glaring at it as they do their usual banter......

I've been wanting to go do that usual oshikatsu stuff of bringing a plush to cafes and such but cafes are so pricey sometimes! (Can't even treat my little Shinichi out.... I'm sorry Shin-chan.......) So I guess I'm gonna have to live through Shin-chan and have him bring a KID nui everywhere (⁠´⁠ε⁠｀⁠ ⁠)

Surely it's still Maid Day somewhere...

I've been keeping this au in my back pocket, and initially I wanted to wait until I had the character info sheets ready, but I thought Maid Day was an appropriate day to kind of soft launch it!

So this is "Detective☆Maid.ᐟ Shin-chan.ᐟ" an au where, you know. Shinichi is a maid going under an alias named "Irene". Amongst other things of course but that's for me to hoard and you to ponder about for like three seconds.

That girl in the corner is my Dcmk oc that's been shoved in this au! What's her name? Uhhhhhhh

Fem!(?) Shinichi sketches because I'm a girl drawer more than a guy drawer (we're working on that)

I don't know if it's obvious but my artstyle fluctuates like A LOT, specifically the way I draw eyes, nose and how I "shade". There's a period from last year where I just kind of stopped drawing? And I forgot my artstyle.... This is just me kind of mismatching references to find out what works for me! Good for very tiny amounts of anatomy practice too <3

Anyway, my favorite part is doing the front curls that I referenced from Yukiko. I loveee drawing curls!!

Happy Birthday to our favorite shrunken highschool detective! Oh, Kudo Shinichi you are so famous to me... May you solve all the cases, play all the soccer games and drink all the ice coffee your heart could possibly desire.

I don't have a dedicated birthday fic, but I did write a Comfort/Fluff(?), Post-Conan, Shinichi-centric fic a while ago!
