From @invisibleborders - For the 6th edition of the Invisible Borders Road Trip, titled "Borders Within: The Trans-Nigerian Road Trip", which took place in May of this year, we travelled across 14 states in all regions of Nigeria. What immediately became clear to us was how much a good part of our encounters were a process in the "handing over" of history from the older to the younger generation. We met laudable custodians of history who did not only share personal experiences, but made generous donations of a lifetime's work mostly in form of books and long interview sessions. Here is a small clip cut out of about 2 hours of interview with Chief J.C Ifebunandu, a lawyer and Nigerian Civil war veteran we met in Enugu. Here he reminds us of what makes a country. The Invisible Borders project is committed to encouraging conversation around the various forms of the unseen, ungraspable borders amongst us on various layers. To this we may add: to serve as transcribers of history through our trans-media nature, especially at a time when many of those before us are passing on, taking with them to grave, lots of untold stories.
