Not What Fairytales Are Made Of || (Greeting) Izzy and Victor

His father had always told him that if he really was to be a knight, the way Victor had daydreamed, he wouldn't have been a shining one. No polished armor, no valiant steed or sharpened blades. He'd be the town loon with a bucket on his head. He'd ride into battle on a swaybacked old mare, swinging a rusted pipe at shadows.

It was an old speech, but a speech that stuck. His whole life Victor saw himself as a knight wrinkled but ready for service. Always ready.

He almost fell over himself in the rain that day, loaded down with books and bits of metal work, a large cup of coffee and an umbrella flung over his head. "I'm terribly sorry-" He stuttered out, juggling while the rain made golden curls stick to his face. "I didn't mean t-t-to run into you, I really didn't..."
