Now that the family White Elephant exchange is over, I can post my contribution without fear of spoiling it. Here's a charcuterie board I made from maple, walnut, bloodwood, and a log of Osage Orange savaged from the former family farm in Iowa, about 20 minutes southwest of where I grew up. Lat and long are woodburned at the bottom to reflect where I found the log, within 10 feet or so. My grandfather was an editor/publisher in our small town and passed the newspaper business into my father when he retired. Thereafter, he maintained a weekly editorial column called "Codgitations of An Old Codger." As such, I thought it appropriate to posthumously ascribe the name to the 160 acres we had, though it won't appear in any plat history of central Iowa. . . #woodworking #uptopwoodshop #osageorange #servingboard #iowapride
