Understanding IP Peering – How It Works And It’s Benefits
Networking solutions offer IP peering which is a service that’s basically an exchange of traffic between users of two separate networks. And although it’s mandatory for both customers to have different networks, the capability of the transmission from one network to the other is a voluntary decision of the customer. You may find that there is a number of definitions for peering but it really only means that neither customer has to invest for the traffic exchange but will receive revenues from both ends of traffic. The binding between the networks to be interconnected would require an agreement that can be at different levels such as a handshake to more stricter ones like contracts.
