Although there was a big event built around the release of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple decided to not stop here with the releases and take the next step, which involves releasing the new iPad generations. During an event held in San Francisco, Tim Cook said that the tablet is simple and capable.
The new iPad Air 2 will feature a fresh exterior appearance, as the device now comes with only 6.1 mm in thickness. The previous model was 18% thicker. There is no other tablet at the moment that packs all its goodies in a casing as slim as the iPad Air’s. The tablet features the Retina Display technology in the form of 9.7 inch display that operates at a 2048 x 1536. The screen is also covered with an anti-reflection coating which drastically improves outdoors reading experiences on your tablet.
Now that we’ve covered the exterior department, it’s about time we jump over to the hardware side, where the iPad Air 2 comes with an A8X processing unit and a 64-bit chip. The performance and graphics of this device have greatly improved when compared to previous installments. Statistical numbers regarding the performance rates of both the iPad Air 2 and earlier versions indicate that the new device is 180 times faster in the gaming/ working area. The 8 MP camera lets users shoot 1080p video. The hardware element that helps bring out the very essence of images is the ABX chip. Speaking of quality images, the iPad Air 2 can take some of its own thanks to the camera, which features 8 MP and a sly of Samsung effects and modes such as Panorama, Slow Motion, Timelapse and others.
Other updates to the Apple iPad 2 include thos made to the WiFi connection and the camera which now support FaceTime better. The battery included support for 20 hours on LTE, while the classic password is replaced by the TouchID technology.
Fans will have to wait until 24 October to get their hands on the new iPad Air 2, but those to eager to wait can get a pre-order of device starting with 17 October. There are three colors available for the iPad Air 2, just like the number of options users have for internal memory. The colors are white, grey and gold. The internal storage options that go with those numbers are 16, 64 and 128 GB. The starting price for it is $500 and it goes up by $100 for each variant, categorized by sized.
