Single Sentence Stories
In the Ineffable Professional Bang server, Saturdays in July mean one thing - single sentence story day! writers and artists write a ficlet one line at a time in a chat channel and it's often chaos and very amusing. We're posting these in an AO3 Series, which you can see here, including sketches from artists who doodled while the stories were unfolding! Every Saturday in July, we spin the IPB Wheel of Doom for a prompt, then we write a story together one sentence at a time. No one knows where it's going, everyone builds on what came before, and the result is usually equal parts heartfelt and hilarious.

Our first story followed Professors Crowley and Aziraphale, two palaeontologists who began with plans for an elaborate academic prank... only for Crowley to reveal that strange, never-before-seen fossils had actually been discovered along the Hebridean coast. Prank abandoned, the two set off for Scotland in search of a genuine mystery.

Our second story began with marine mammal veterinarian Dr Aziraphale Fell answering a call about a stranded sea lion, only to discover he'd actually found an injured merman. Between untangling fishing nets, awkward introductions, curious locals, and one very offended "I'm not a selkie," the day became rather more extraordinary than anyone expected.
