Brother { Caleb & Jacob
Somebody call out to your brother He’s calling out your name
“I told you a million times to stop plugging so many damn things into that one plug, Micki,” Jacob yelled over his shoulder at his fiance in the kitchen as he shouldered his way past a few boxes to get to the stairs leading down into the basement. A breaker had blown again, leaving him to wander in total darkness down the incline. He cursed under his breath when one of Artie’s toys caught beneath his shoe, making a shrill, surreal cackling noise in lue of the happy little caught to indicate that the batteries were dying.
Thankfully, very little was in the basement. It wasn’t meant for storage. Jacob had plans to make it werewolf proof in the instance that it was needed. Since Artemis was showing very prominent signs of being a werewolf, he knew it would be needed eventually. Though, he wasn’t sure if he had it in him to put his own daughter through the shit that his old alpha had put him through to obtain control. But, then again, he was an angry teenager then. There were too many unknown variables to tell, so he was going to prepare for all of hte possibilities.
Jacob heard the doorbell ring upstairs, though he was too focused on getting the lights back on to think about it too much. Walking across the dark basement to the breaker box was cake since he was a complete neat freak.
The door to the basement creaked as it opened; he assumed it was Micki, so he thought nothing of it while he smacked open the box and felt across the switches to find one that had turned off. “There you are,” Jacob muttered victoriously to himself, flipping the switch. He turned around as the lights flickered back on.
Just as his gaze settled on the tall werewolf standing at the base of the stairs, the door slammed shut and metal bars slid into place. “Motherfucker,” Jacob cursed, realizing that he’d been had. “And here I thought that I could get through the day without murdering someone.”
