Reading the SARANGANI INDIGENOUS PEOPLES COMPREHENSIVE WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT CODE authored by Fulung Fredo Pandian Basino and Co-sponsored by Vice Governor Elmer T. De Peralta (and all Board Members) It is important to have knowledge on the said IP Code since I usually do community immersions/visitations in Sarangani's Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) and I write stories about them. I am also thankful that I have IP friends who always share their knowledge and wisdom with regard to their customary laws, cultural practices and heritage, political structure, Indigenous Knowledge System, and the likes. Sarangani IP Code is the first IP Code passed and implemented in Region 12. One of the notable provisions in this IP Code is in Article XIV or the Anti-Discrimination Acts. Kudos to Fulung Basino and the members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Sarangani, headed by Doc Vice Peralta. Reading Sarangani IP Code makes me remember our lessons in Indigenous Knowledge Management (IKM) under Sustainable Development Studies of MSU Graduate School Program.
