IP | Haylee & Jacob 9/17
Had it been a day? Or a few weeks? Jake couldn't tell, but he didn't care. He was getting anxious. There were two constants in his life, and one of them was missing. He needed to get it back, or he would dig a hole into the floor of his apartment from his pacing.
He couldn't take it anymore. It wasn't like Haylee to not answer his phone calls or texts. She hadn't shown up at the park for their run for days. What the fuck had he done? He was positive that he hadn't said or done anything wrong. She was ignoring him and, as much as he hated to admit it, his feelings were hurt.
Jake banged on the front door for twenty full minutes, but the lights were on inside, so he knew she, or someone, was home. He sat outside for a full hour before knocking and ringing the door bell again and peeking through every window that didn't have the curtains drawn. When he thought he saw a shadow slide across the floor through the living room window, he began to yell, unable to take it anymore.
"Haylee, open the damn door and let me in! I'm not leaving until you talk to me, god dammit!"
