Late night cupa and finishing touches on my art installation, at first I wanted to get the piece on canvas in the proper sense but due to I was Informed by the warehouse stationary staff that it will take 1 day at least and tomorrow I have work thus I changed my mind to do a dIY version myself, look sharp was a good place for materials. Making it wasn't too difficult my basic art and craft experience was useful #ctec500

Final presentation 

This art piece highlights the link between the disciplines Psychology (Totem & Taboo), Philosophy (Aesthetics), Literature (The narrative), Biology (Signs of Life) and Sound science (Cymatics). The linking Idea being “Perspective” either being one man’s perspective on various discipline or a group of people on one discipline. Th branches symbolize that men’s perspective is not always the same they intertwine and overlap each other and change with time as to no one tree is identical to the one next to it and they change with seasons and so does men’s perspective change with from the influence around them. The overall aesthetic of the piece was inspired by the above thought. People perceive something as being either right or wrong, educational or nonsense but as time passes by with more information they change not once for me perspective “A way of regarding situations or topics” is a living thing that thrives on external influence.

Placement and overall thoughts  

To hang the piece I had already chosen out a place when I started to draw up drafts which were a clean wall with no clutter that might distract people from the piece as taking on some of the things Laurent talked about in the previous project.

Overall experience of doing this project was quite insightful in how to get various disciplines to link together as differences in thoughts and ideas can create difficulty in finding a linking idea at first I thought that the thinking idea would be perception but further researching the books is discovered that Perspectively is more prominent then perception, some books required me to dive in deeper to find the meaning behind the words of the author to find the link as I figured I should understand fully what the author such as Sigmund Freud is talking about then to skim the top of some of his controversial declarations. Integrating findings a link between such as Sound (which is a more of a “feeling” and active discipline) and Literature is (which is a more written and read discipline) I think the books I read in regarding these disciplines helped me to find the link and integrate the idea between them but if I were to have been looking at them as a discipline before this project I would have taken me a little time to find them.

While in the project I also used Instagram to post my daily work as I was progressing in the project which was quite fun and interesting to see as It attracts the attention of people who weren't in BCT.

Art production process

After talking to Carol and getting her feedback which ran it pst a few people and got positive feedback for it thus I moved on to making it.

The individual elements I gathered through google searches which I will link at the bottom but I turned them into what I wanted that best portrays my idea through my perspective. As not all perspective are gonna be similar to mine I will be also adding a brief description to my art. Even though they were different elements collected from different places putting my theme in mind I found elements that would go well together.

By doing this I also gained more skills on how to use Photoshop and increased my searching skills, and in a sense, I would consider it a success as i learnt something new and advanced my skills in the process.

Putting my links between my books a d the idea in a more clearer view, learnt a new feature about PowerPoint which was a bonus as I don't usually use it... #ctec500

Smaller connections the 5 disciplines, I was surprised to see how some of them had stronger links between some and then others, in regards to Sigmund Freud it's takes of a bit a searching the depths to what he is saying past the weirdness to find the root if this thoughts...hence totem and taboo took a little longer to read then the other books #ctec500

Five books one for each discipline, I reckoned from my last assessment review that I need to document what I am thinking so this time there are three points I used to choose my current books 1. Not too broad 2.intresting/fun to read 3.not too thick that it takes me 2 weeks to read

My underline thoughts on what they were talking about.. Through out the whole write up what I found out was that they were all talking about perspective, either its about the perspective in relationships, science, or sound etc. Thus my linking idea is! "Perspective"

Putting mind on to Paper, I have been thinking about connections between reading the books as I found out that it is easier for me to work that way as I can tell right while reading if the book is suitable to be connected to the other.. Don't know if it's the right process but it's my process #ctec500
