I feel like those of you who expressed interest in Aaron-the-Empath’s story should know that it is currently on track to be my fastest-drafted novel yet. Even over Twins, which took me five months and change.

(This is still an issue for reasons of I’m-unemployed-but-was-working-full-time-during-Twins-until-I-was-a-full-time-student-and-also-NaNo)

I would like to credit at least partially your interest in the story, because it made me quite happy and enthused to work on the draft. But really, it was going well before that, too.

That YA novel about psychics sounds really interesting, can you spare any more details?

Well, since you’re not the only one who asked!

It’s not…done yet. And I tend to make things up as I go, but I do know where this one is going to end up. I’ve had the idea since high school. In fact, it was the first story in which the names didn’t need to get changed from fake-Japanese crap.

These are not the details you want. I know. But I felt like sharing.

Ahem. Aaron is seventeen, and as you can imagine, being an empath in high school is approximately hell. He also has very little in the way of plans or friends, because he isn’t sure what things he enjoys, and what things other people around him enjoy. He’s sort of lost figuring out who he is and this is an important part of his character growth.

The facility he goes to to help him with his problems also has a handful of other teenagers with ESP, though none of them have the same abilities.

This is also the first (and currently only) story of mine to feature a transgender character, which I am very proud of.
