the music fades between songs, the sound of public transit taking over. the subway threads through tunnels making the lights almost flutter. @iprotect adjusts herself, shoulder more pointed in an offering. jun-hee takes the bait, her temple dropping to press into their jacket. her eyes burn with fatigue and can barely make out changing time. it's nearing midnight. “ i can take care of myself. ” her tone is low, a mutter from what remains off pretty colored lips.
she could practically see the corners se-mi's lips curl, something sly like. jun-hee pulls into herself more, arms around the bag within lap. the beginning of the next song begins to play between sharing earbuds. something unlike her own taste. “ your playlist sucks, by the way. ” there's a chuckle then, one she felt by their connected sides. se-mi switches the song then, something more mainstream. it's not bad, catchy even. it placates her for now, but she's mostly tired. she picked up a double shift and the caffeine se-mi had brought her mid-day was fading in the same way she was. “ let's listen to mine tomorrow. ” but she really means the next next day, it's already slipped her mind that it's her day off.

COMING FROM ANYONE ELSE Min-su would have thought it an attempt to berate him. A question like that to a grown man is ... a sting of sorts, in that it draws his shortcomings out into the open. He doesn't know, fully, if he ever has. Perhaps in kindergarten by some playful mimicry of television. Nothing of substance. No real kiss to remember.
Se-mi is different. Where others find his chest with their soles, she resides benign and comforting. A friend, maybe, if she could allow such a thing with him. He cannot tell. He's never had one quite like her. Quite like anyone, really. Exploitation comes to mind at the call of friendship ... but never with her. He feels as though she may never do such a thing to him.
