Today we dedicated our newest Public Conservation Area in the Town of LeRay in memory of an incredible person who dedicated his life to protecting lands and forests, especially in the Tug Hill Region. As most of you know, I am passionate about agriculture. Ever since I graduated Cornell, almost 18 years ago, it has been a mission to educate the non-farm public on how their food is grown, produced, and where it comes from. In my opinion, there is no better way to do this than to bring people to a farm and let them experience agriculture first hand. It has always been a dream of mine to have a local foods dinner on location at a farm. That all being said, I am excited to announce that dream is going to happen as Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust will be hosting a Farm to Table Dinner in honor of its 30th anniversary of protecting land in the Tug Hill Region. This on farm dinner is even more special, as it will be held on one of the land trust’s protected farms. Mark your calendars and I look forward to seeing you all in September to celebrate this beautiful region we call home.
