Ipsy April 2018 review
Honestly this month is pretty good! The bag is super cute and feels pretty durable, I see myself actually using it.
The first thing I got was the Purlisse coconut oil and coffee body scrub. This is a pretty good sized sample, but keep in mind that you use it on your whole body, so you use more than a face scrub. The scrub is really gritty and exfoliating, but it ReAlLy smells like coffee, so if you don’t like the smell of coffee you probably would not like it. The only problem I had is that it left my skin pretty oily, but if you have really dry skin it could be good. Overall, 3.5 out of 5.
Next I got the h2o+ beauty oasis hydrating treatment, which is sort of like a gel moisturizer. I really like this because I have combination skin, so I need something that is moisturizing without being heavy and breaking me out. This also makes my skin super soft, and although it feels sticky when you first put it on, it soaks in pretty quick. It also smells like the ocean, which is always a plus. Might consider buying the full size. 4.75 out of 5
Next item is the firma 202 angled shader brush. I love getting brushes in my bag because you can never have to many, and they’re usually full size which is a great deal. This one is particularly good for blending out crease shades and nose contouring. Its pretty soft and synthetic, so it works for creams and powders. Can’t complain, 4.5 out of 5
Item 4 is the Luna eye shadow in Selene. I’ve gotten these a few times in my ipsy, and even though they’re pretty and good quality, I don’t really find myself using them? Still a really pretty pinky champagne color, and I‘ll make an effort to wear it more. Application is pretty smooth as well, and has a good amount of pigment. 3.5 outta 5
My favorite item by far is the NYX soft matte lip cream in Stockholm. I don’t wear a ton of lip products, but when I do its this kind of shade. The formula is also really nice, it starts out moussey(?) and dries down matte. The shade is like a warm terracotta nude, even though in this picture it looks really pink for some reason. Also a great deal considering its a full size product that goes for almost 7 dollars at Ulta and the bag is only 10 dollars a month. 5 out of 5!
LMK if anyone actually finds these reviews helpful or entertaining <3
