2015 Book Challenge
Anyone who knows me will know I can flit between hobbies, knitting, sewing, making this or that and I don’t always get time to do all that I want!! There is one thing however that is a constant hobby and I always make time for … reading !!
Having thought long and hard about where this passion has come from it has to have been influenced by my Dad. All through my childhood I was encouraged by my parents to read. In fact I can’t ever remember not reading or being read to. My dad is probably the only person I know who reads more books than I do and it seems like he must own thousands of books! I always love getting a book recommendation from my dad!
Two years ago I was gifted a nook for my birthday; last year I was gifted a kindle. Whilst I agree that books in their real form are special and having gotten into the habit of washing your hands before you pick up a book; I have not looked back from my new digital wonder! It now feels like I am reading more than ever!
So rather than the new year new me resolutions that I never make and if I ever do never stick to I thought that this year I would set myself a new year challenge:
To read and review 52 books.
Right now I am not sure that this figure is achievable, and I’m not going to be gutted if I don’t read that many as I’m not sure how having a super busy full time job will allow me to read a book a week but I will give it a shot. Along the way I hope to offer a review of all that I read and hopefully share some of the good and bad with anyone that’s interested.
I am currently reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt so hope to get my first review up shortly.
Honestly is this too much to ask? #IReadThereforeIam #ILikeBigBooksAndICannotLie #ReadSoHard @hellogiggles with @repostapp --- Dream life. 😍
#nowreading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by #JunotDiaz ... This is the second book I'm reading by this author (This Is How You Lose Her was the first) and I'm smitten. #POCliterature #caribbeanwriters #diasporawriting #bibliophile #IReadThereforeIam #ILikeBigBooksAndICannotLie
