Today's Pony Achievements

Pony related: While I was sewing seeds and digging the starts in, (perhaps this seems odd but I really enjoy it, like, a lot,) I decided that Ireet should feel fine over summer when he gets to plant and plough and such and then watch things grow, but he gets very frustrated and "down" over the winter months, when the agricultural work in Trauben is at a relative standstill (barring one or two tasks. He gets really restless during this period of the year because he doesn't connect with anypony there super-well. Everyone else is kept sane mostly by socializing more at that time.

Also, I reblogged my slightly-G1-ish-looking portrait-frame of Flintlock at a reasonable time for Saturday (apparently), because it landed some notes. Woohoo!

I never have the slightest idea when people are online on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. It's all too often I'll just skip blogging on those days entirely because I just have to little conception of when best to post. I really need to finish my 'Reclaimr' project which will generate metrics and allow me to judge when my sub-base is actually watching their stream.

Polly: You wrote me you'd be coming, but any… particular reason?

Ireet: They sortof insisted I take some time off after planting was finished.

Polly: Coming here is your idea of time off?

Ireet: Well it's been ages since I --

Polly: Visited your cousins? Imien and Ahmore have a spare room too, y'know. And there are three of them to tidy up before a guest arrives, if you include Teiicha. They're your real family.

Ireet: But with the kids and all — I didn't want to impose by actually staying there.

Polly: I'll be sure to suggest that you'd babysit for them next time to make up for the inconvenience.

Ireet: Uhm.

Polly: Anyway, sit down. I've already put the kettle on for myself. Do you want anything?

Ireet: No thanks. They had a dining car on the way here.

Polly: I meant in general. It's been over 5 years since your mother was laid to rest in Trauben, and you've hardly been anywhere but here once or twice.

Ireet: I'm not sure I have the same level of wanderlust that she did.

Polly: So you're… happy.

Ireet: I suppose.

Polly: Well I'm brewing sassafras. I assume you still like it.

I mentioned in my last letter that Trauben was planning a Thatch, as we sorely needed one. There was no bad weather for the event, and no need to extend the schedule for any other reason, either. So many attendees showed up, that there was a good deal of downtime. I think everyone threw a pétanque ball atleast once before any ponies even thought of heading off. If they keep going this well, I wouldn't mind a Thatch every season…

I'll be making for the train station in Powderhalt tomorrow, but this should reach you before I arrive there, as I'll be giving this note to one of the pegasi who attended the Thatch yesterday. They said they could take it to the mailbox at the Neighagra fork in the morning. If it's delivered on time, I'll be in the city in a little under two days after you get this. Polly offered me stay at her flat in the Garden District, so you don't have to make accommodations for me. Looking forward to seeing you both with the kids.
