The petals in my artwork are painted with hints of purple cream and blue with the throat a vibrant orange-yellow and the folds and veins of the petals. They are subtly painted, contemporary crisp and clean against the deep green background. Notice the subtle colors on the throat and center of the iris. I used my glazing technique layering the pigments on top of themselves creating a luminous depth. Unfortunately, a photo is not capable of expressing the dramatic effect I achieve with this method.
