2. What movie have you watched most recently? What did you think of it?

I was picking holds in the dvd section of the library and I saw that we apparently own literally every Resident Evil movie, so I took out the CGI Resident Evil: Degeneration movie. It was THE most mid 2000s thing I've ever seen tbh. Sufficiently entertaining even though the animation looked goofy as hell at some points (positive)

3. what are you looking forward to right now?

(my depression brain wants me to say "nothing" but we're bulldozing over that) Uuuuhhhhh Witch Hat and Cinderella Boy Monday updates. For the wedding I'm in to finally be overrrrrr by this time next week. To see Amanda and Jade the day after!! To get together irl with some friends the next month to do a dnd hangout, and THEN to see Shrike the month after that uwu

4. if you could do anything at all today, what would it be?

I really hope to get some reading done before the day is up. But also I started playing tears of the kingdom again for the first time in forever and now that's kind of all I wanna do all day every day (this is why i can't have video games as hobbies, they take over my frontal lobe)

5. What's your drink of choice? (Coffee/tea order, alcohol of choice, pop, etc)

Literally my biggest vice is an ice cold diet coke (from a can if possible). But if we're talking Tea/boba orders, it depends on the place. Ube latte from Tous Les Jours is a must. Otherwise anything earl gray/chai/matcha. We really need to start getting weirder and more whimsical with tea drinks, guys, c'mon. Why do we let coffee drinkers have all the fun?

For alcohol my go to is either a sangria or a Kahlua and cream. I only drink the sweet stuff.

6. What's your hair routine like? Anything special?

I wash it every day and everyone can spit and throw rocks at me or whatever, but it Does Not Hold Up Well if I do not. It's super thin and has a very mild curl pattern, so I do the whole mousse/cream scrunch upside down thing and air dry, but it turns out differently every day and idk what to do about that lol

7. what's your favorite way to travel? Is there a mode of travel you haven't done that you want to experience?

GOD if I could take a cross country luxury train ride I'd do it TOMORROW. I've never had the chance to ride the shinkansen and I'd really like to someday.

8. favorite month of the year and why?

Late September through October. I like Spring a whole lot, but to me nothing beats when the leaves start to change colors and everything is fall flavored. Winter and Summer can choke.

9. favorite time of day and why?

Early morning/late night. like any time between 9pm and 9am. Quiet early mornings 7-9am are peak and quiet late nights are great for reading. No such things as responsibilities past 10pm (cries in employed)

10. do you play or follow any sports? & elaborate on that?

I don't play sports. I'm aware of baseball and hockey bc I watched them growing up with my dad, and I like going to live games. But the only sport that has ever managed to get me acting like a Real sports fan is sumo. I follow the bi-monthly Grand Sumo tournaments and my favorite rikishi are Atamifuji and Ura!!

11. what kind of music is stuck in your head a lot lately?

I CANNOT stop singing the chorus of the song Pomeranian by FORAGERS, which I first heard after stumbling upon their tiny desk concert appearance. I really love stuff where it sounds like the singer is having a lot of fun.

12. dishes or laundry?

Laundry for sure. I have a thing about wet food, it makes me nauseous

13. what's something you learned recently?

My coworker gave me the most recent New Yorker to read and it had an article about Isamu Noguchi, so I went down a rabbit hole about him and his career recently. He was a sculptor and furniture designer.

14. if you could give a TED talk on anything, what would you talk about?

How graphic novels/comic books count as "real reading" and the importance of visual literacy in the age of AI slop and short form video dominating people's attention spans

15. What's a piece of advice you find yourself giving a lot?

You have to do what is best for you.

16. what's a piece of advice you would give to yourself five years ago?

You will not be stuck at your terrible job forever, your time is worth something, and you can do hard things.

17. do you believe in luck and superstition? Do you carry any lucky items or follow any lucky rules?

Nope!

18. Are you musical? Play any instruments or sing? Would you ever perform for an audience?

I love singing! I'm in a community choir, but it's not really my preferred type of singing tbh, just something to do for me. I perform with the choir but also do some solo stuff for their events as well (which is scary but also fun!!). I used to play drums as a kid.

19. Write, type, or speak?

I'm so bad with words. My mouth and my brain are not coordinated with each other. Is there a meaningful difference between typing and writing...? Typing is faster, but I think when getting out my thoughts I like to hand write them.

20. what do you wish someone would ask you?

I'm not sure... I could talk about any of my interests for hours. I wanna say "my ocs!!" but they're really not all that developed so I don't have much to say about them lol.

Currently watching: Jacksepticeye's playthrough of Resident Evil Requiem, Frieren (with the lads. I'm still on season 1 and they've been very patient with me lol), Skip and Loafer (Shrikey has also been very patient with me LOL), and I keep telling myself I'll finish the Wind Breaker anime sometime (doubt)(I really like it i'm just bad at watching stuff). OH and I did actually get around to watching a bit of MAU MAKAN APA?, it's such a cool animation project

Currently reading: Audition by Katie Kitamura, The Raven King by Nora Sakavic (for book club with the lads), a rotation of several manga (Dr. Stone, Dandadan, Wind Breaker), and several webtoons (Cinderella Boy, Seasons of Lovesome, Osora, etc.). Also "rereading" Gideon the Ninth and Murderbot through their audio book versions

Current obsession: Leon S. Kennedy tbh!!! Why am I looking up so many lore videos. I NEED to watch playthroughs of all the remakes....

Working on: Program prep/planning for work, getting a therapist and/or psychiatrist (i know this probably means like creative project-wise but tbh right now i'm too burned out for that orz)

Last google search: “ao3 wind breaker" ;alskdja;slkd listen, I just wanna read about Sakura having a good day with his friends. For my mental health.

*crawls across the dirt* I haven't forgotten about Poorly Drawn October, I've just been so busy these past few weeks, somebody help me

I combined prompts 3 (playing an instrument) and 5 (your favorite flower) and drew my oc Lyre learning to play a lyre for a friendly daffodil. He's not great at it yet, but he's getting the hang of it! (please no one look at his janky ass legs and feet lmao)

Prompt 4 was clothes with too many layers, but I think even one layer is too many for Kirby
