because tumblr has a backwards ass and extremely western centric idea of what is progressive and what isn't and it's honestly fucking ridiculous that they're not on the whole intelligent enough to examine the importance of a character's gender in relation to the origin culture of their media as well as the importance of the character's gender in relation to their personality and presentation. a cis boy who's openly emotional is an important character in the sense of erasing the idea that boys shouldnt express themselves, and to decide that him being emotional is grounds for him to be trans (even if subconsciously) is extremely ignorant.
