Geography of Irmstae
Hi, I'm Shara. I've been asked by the human named Sifka to give you all an overview of the human city of Irmstae. She thought my experience being a tracker might help with giving a clear overview of this city, but to be honest, I have no experience with human cities, though I will do my best.
Well first of all this human city is rather flat. By this I mean that it is build entirely on the ground. As such navigation requires more memory than actual tracking abilities. Luckily the city is divided in smaller subsections. This is achieved through a combination or rivers and walls.
There are two types of rivers. First are the two large natural rivers. The Mienne, which flows from east to west, and the Khaaln, which flows from the north and joins the Mienne in the heart of the city. Several islands are located in these rivers. Most of the river banks have been solidified with stones and as such bridges are needed to travel from one bank to another.
Secondly there are many human made rivers, called canals. Most of the canals are concentric to the joining of the Mienne and the Khaaln. Though there are a few who are positioned more radially. All in all it resembles a weird spiderweb.
The walls are placed more erratic and also differ a lot in size and structure. There is no real structure to their placement. Their purpose still eludes me. They seem to do little else than constrict the traveling of the people who live here.
While everything appears to be build on the ground, the ground is not flat. The city is build on seven hills; at least from the human perspective, I do not find these slight elevations worthy of the name "hill". Most buildings are of comparable height and thus for a hypothetical second level on which one might travel. However this is apparently not allowed. There are a few higher buildings present, sporting towers or spires. climbing these gives you a good overview of the city, but this is also not allowed.
I know this because the humans are yelling at me to get down. I better comply cause these humans often favor violence of dialogue to settle perceived disagreements. So that is all the info I can give you for now. I hope it was helpful.
