April Light It Up Red Challenge
So... I’m going to do a masterpost for the April Light It Up Red Challenge. (Link) Here goes!
April 1st) Autistic Humor
Hm....I don’t really have anything to add. I get frustrated when people say a joke, I don’t get it, ask them to explain, and then THEY get frustrated and WON’T. There is a small possibility that I will GET IT if you explain it! Ugh.
April 2nd) #RedInstead
I have necklace which is red choker with a red metal homemade infinity sign dangling off of it. I also homemade shirt. It says Aspie in red letters, there’s a red infinity symbol above it, with pi actually the symbol, #actuallyaspie, #lightitupred, #actuallyautistic, and April 2nd is Autism Acceptance Day, written on it, and Aspie spelled out with the periodic table. I wore it, but didn’t unzip the red jacket that was over it. (school, and I was terrified, plus I have maybe one friend in my grade). I’m a bit of a coward after years of exclusion. And one of my friends wasn’t there that day, which made it worse, but...I had a red jacket on... so does that count?
April 2nd) Stimming
So... Stimming. Yes. Well, I suppose I could start with the usual, flapping and rocking. I’ve done both. I didn’t know what I was doing was flapping before though. I’ve caught myself rocking in class and when I’ve been tired. Recently, if I catch myself doing it, I don’t stop myself, because it means I’m stressed and it’ll help me calm down. Also, who gives a crap about what my neurotypical mean classmates think? They can shove off. Anyways... So I do flap when I get excited. I kind of keep my hands close to my chest and go side to side? I have no idea how to describe it. I know in the past it was just something I did but didn’t realize it had to do with my autism. I flap when I’ve really excited, like getting my DragonCon tickets. (Just thinking about it makes me excited!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Sorry, calming down now. *breathes a few times. EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!) I flapped and probably freaked this kid out at the pier when we were on vacation. We were crabbing and I had caught some!!! I used to tap my collarbone with my right hand. I tugged on it too. I chew gum, but we’re going to have to find a replacement besides my hair for that, I’ve started the dreadful process of braces. Ugh.
April 4th) Special Interests
I’ll list them in order of when I liked them, farthest back to current, and THEN infodump.
1) Warriors. 2) Alex Rider 3) Maximum Ride 4) This series called Zach’s Lie 5) Knight Rider (1980′s) 6) Airwolf (Again, 1980′s) 7) A - Team 8) Doctor Who 9) Percy Jackson and the Olympians 10) Hunger Games 11) Divergent (I even planned a hypothetical camp for this.) 12) Harry Potter (current alongside 13) 13) Autism/Aspergers
So yeah, that’s my list. I could probably make a whole post for this... Copy and Paste...I’ma do that. It’s much easier than one LONG post.
