Not sure why Gyazo GIF gives such low-quality screenshots compared to Gyazo or the built-in screenshot utility, but w/e -- I tried it for the first time during a huge fire in Irolivom. A fire-breathing tarantula rampaged through the fortress and decimated the forests both above and below ground, slowing down my framerate so much that I ended up leaving the game running while I went to the laundromat. I assumed I’d come back to the “crumbled to ruin” announcement or like, a couple dwarven children hiding in their bedrooms while the beast wandered around looking for them, but instead it somehow died of natural causes. Nothing in the combat reports, so it didn’t get killed by a dwarf or even a tree/dirt/stone collapse or anything -- it just died suddenly, which I’m fine with because there’s plenty to do in this fortress and tbh it got my population a lot closer to a number I can work with. I think its body wasn’t actually fireproof. (Anyways, I thought the fire looked kind of cool. Too big to get a picture, but there were actually two waves of fire approaching each other from opposite sides of the map.)
