@ Anon who sent that ask just now:
XD relax a bit, my friend, because that’s precisely the most interesting part of this story! I know it sounds awful but it’s not that terrible, I promise! xD the entire basis of the fic is to take these two characters, who have had obvious roles imposed on them by their circumstances, and then change up said roles in order to create something that nobody would have expected from them.
Plus, the actual meaning of the word Nemesis isn’t really that of “mortal enemy”, if you look it up you’ll find it was meant to mean to be “divine retribution”. I guess more often than not people use it with the first connotation in the current times. The thing is, if someone’s rival is his form of divine retribution, what hapens when you conciliate with said rival? What happens when, instead of fighting said person, you open yourself to what he represents, what he’s bringing this ‘retribution’ for? And it works both ways around, because it’s a mutual thing. Each represents the other’s retribution. Once you embrace said retribution, what’s the result?
So it’s not the classic “this person exists to foil my plans and I must take him out of my way!” situation, as you must have realized. I know it sounds bad xD and yeah, it’s not safe to trust me too much because I do have some mean things in store because that’s me... :’D But my take on this particular matter will be different from what it sounds like, and different from what most people assume it is. So don’t freak out xD I’m not going to ruin everything I’ve worked for, I promise.

i feel kinda bad for u, erica, at least when furuichi became a gag character we eventually got an arc about how being a gag character made him feel like shit!
yeah and fuckin oga actually made an attempt to be more understanding of furuichi's insecurities like
he recognized there was a problem
he recognized he was a part of the problem
and he fucking a TTEMPTED TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM
even as a gag character furuichi is still viewed as an equal who stands beside oga, and isn't some sort of tag along. he has plot relevance. even if he's not the strongest he's still usually involved, except for that long period in the comic where he wasn't anywhere ever at all???? i hated that period
but this current arc in the comic had furuichi kickin ass and it's also about furuichi being an important person to oga and oga having to save furuichi and there's so much furuichi and i <33333333333333
