turns out nobody died! they managed to kill all the vampires due to one party member being an actual force of nature, but unfortunately one vampire turned van der voorts face into mince meat. other events include visiting blinsky, which is always fun, learning that ireena has been receiving nightmares of izek, and the cleric asking out ash, my beloved homebrew npc, on a date. i am deeply uncomfortable and so is ash. oh and they’re meeting with baron vallakovich! can’t wait to dive into this sleazy mf

A hypothetical tv show about a grad school cohort im working on:

Our heroine: autistic, cat lady, jewish, broke millenial

PHD student 1: black, just trying to get by, winds up teaming up with heroine to resist the rule by fear of PHD student 2

PHD student 2: rules by fear/control, accuses things and people of being racist if they disagree with her, has a lot of opinions that are social justice warrior-like, once yelled at a black french exchange student who said french black people and american black people have different experiences and insisted they were the same, also black

PHD student 3: afraid of white women, sticks with PHD student 2 out of fear of seeming racist and them not being white, indian

PHD student 4, possible PHD student 5: also hang with PHD student 2 out of fear and intimidation and not wanting to seem racist

Foreign exchange student: black, city shock, from france, just her and her cat and Heroine. Afraid of monorails. Is quitting her PHD because you can’t transfer your work and she is done with the interpersonal politics scene/racist professor

1 Racist Professor: powertripping because she’s great at research and bringing in money but also says racist things to students

1 Dept head who is there on rotation and sucks at managing people

1 professor who just really wants to have a baby PHD student to raise

1 Professor who is sensible and lives in a PHD ghetto (poor but filled with doctorates)

It’s set in a loud and aggressive east coast US city.

The show would ideally be around 6 episodes and be structured around Heroine battling the interpersonal politics in a year.

so, im running curse of strahd, and my party found the vampire spawn in van der voorts shop, but only after two of them broke down his door to distract him from the others *also* breaking in. they managed to find the bones, escape, knocked out van der voort by throwing a coffin at him and now they’re in the middle of combat. AND they discovered rictavio’s identity and found out that ireena may be a reincarnation of tatyana, so. fun!
