Simon, who says he hates reader, never really gives a proper reason, just says you annoy him.
You've been on the team for months now and everyone else has accepted you except Ghost.
Everyone else has noticed his hostility towards you too, soap was even the one to point out how Ghost never actually calls you by your name. When you go out to the pub with the guys, Simon sits away from you and acts as if you're not there, won't talk to you, or reply if you say something. The only time Simon doesn't complain about being around you is during missions, although you're quite sure if he could he would choose anyone else.
This was just an average mission, nothing out of the normal for the group. You were just about to give a location update when they heard it, an ambush. They heard you fall and the sound of your gun sliding across the ground, they all waited just hoping to not hear a gunshot knowing you had been disarmed, but what they heard was worse. They heard a heavy thump followed by your screams followed by multiple more stomps, once it stopped they could still hear your heavy breathing before you screamed again, they heard wind and then what sounded like something, likely you slamming into something sturdy. They had to stand there and hear your screams abruptly stop, after a few seconds they heard what they could only assume was your last breath. The comms were silently for a beat before price spoke up “we have to assume they are kia, the plan doesn't change” soaps voice came through hoarse “Captain we can’t just leave them, they could be alive” “we don't know their location it would be too risky to go looking, we all heard them, all we'll find is a body. Stick to the plan, that's an order” Price made sure to make it clear he didn't want anyone going to try to find your body, not wanting to lose any more soldiers. He thought that would be the end of it at least for the rest of the mission, but Ghost's voice came through “I'm going find them” Ghost was blatantly going against a direct order, price kept calling out to him over comms, telling him all that he will find is a body. Ghost knew, he knew better than anyone on that team, but it didn't matter, even if all he found was a body he was gonna bring it back. And for someone Ghost hated so openly, he sure was wishing to every heavenly being he could think of that maybe you were still clinging to life.
