OK, lemme see if I've got this straight:

King Richard II was shite and gave too much wealth and power to his buddies, and not enough wealth and power to the dudes who expected to have wealth and power. So his uncle Gloucester got together some other dudes, including a guy named Mowbray and the king's cousin Henry, and they called themselves the Lords Appellant and they went to the king and said, "Your buddies are shite." Then they killed most of the king's buddies and controlled the king's actions for a year. Eventually the king got control back, and had Mowbray kill Gloucester. Then Henry and Mowbray got in a fight, so the king exiled them both, then took away their right to their inheritances. Mowbray died of the plague, but Henry said "Fuck this shit, I'm getting my inheritance back," and he went back to England and gathered a bunch of powerful dudes who didn't like the king (because he was shite) and they captured the king and then everybody was like "What do we do now?" Then they convinced the king to offer to very kindly step down and they made his cousin Henry king in his place. Then a long time later there was a huge civil war (that some people say was called The Cousins' Wars at the time but is now called The Wars of the Roses) because Henry had two little boy cousins through the female line who theoretically should have been made king instead of him. Then a descendant of Henry married a descendant of one of the little boys, and that's how we got the Tudors.
