On the 22nd of January 1905, a peaceful protest led by Father Gapon outside the winter palace was fired upon by the Tsars Guards in St. Petersburg, Russia. Riots broke out as a result of this horrifying attack and some would say it was the spark to the Russian Revolution in 1905.
