What's up with dramas based on danmei and the complete destruction of all morally grey characters, word of honor is making me scream
ok who’s ready for the world’s most useless post
unfortunately i have a take as hot as the surface of the sun so that requires context spanning decades and is so inane i can’t believe my brain bothered to piece it together.
so i think it’s basically understood that the 1998 film ‘a bug’s life’ is a metaphor for rising up against a tyrannical ruling class.
therefore we can pretty much all agree that this guy:
represents the attitudes and motivations of said ruling class, and i noticed that these guys:
bear an uncanny resemblance both in body shape and narrative purpose to illumination entertainment’s most infamous cash cow, and quite possibly The mascot for how capitalism will discard quality, good writing, interesting stories and good characterization if there’s an easier way to wring a ton of money out of exhausted parents of easily entertained children:
since tuck and roll were created years before the minions this was obviously not deliberate, but given the similarities there’s a haunting sort of retroactive metaphor when the circus bugs are about to be squished by the grasshoppers but then tuck and roll start slapping each other and yelling in whatever language they speak and hopper goes
yep. in a small, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it throwaway joke probably intended to move the plot along and nothing more, the writers of a bug’s life effectively predicted how the cheap entertainment value of small pill-shaped things yelling nonsense would capture the attention of those who get the final say in what entertainment gets to look like.
why did i make this connection? don’t know! why does it matter? it doesn’t! but now you are also thinking about it and i am no longer alone in this. sorry.
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK-
NO! STOP! TOO BRIGHT! OH FUCK!
WHY ARE YOU WORSE ON MOBILE?!
Every time I check Facebook I’m reminded why I’m not on Facebook 😒
Do. People not know that TES is rated M. Why do people go "but the minors!!!" On posts about a fucking 18+ game. Of COURSE a lot of people (including myself!) ignored the rating and played it/is playing it as minors, but that's on them to navigate the content they consume, not the target audience.
y’all I have the BIGGEST crush of one of my regulars but refuse to make a move but none of my tinder matches are doing it for me and I’m :///
