Sarinna walked toward the King with papers in her hand. "This is Isaac Terrefuoco. He was recruited as a mage for the Kingdom, with all the responsibilities that come with the position." She closed the file and looked at Isaac. He smiled at her and nodded.
"I have been wanting to work for the Kingdom for a while. I'm happy to have been considered."
The King still didn't say a word. He leaned over to one side and folded his leg over his knee. "Why?"
Isaac's eyebrows lifted. "I beg your pardon? Why? I mean... it's the Kingdom. Who hasn't heard of the amazing things they have done and how they have grown?" He chuckled and locked his hands together. "I work solely for myself. To use my talents for the Kingdom is a dream come true. Rarely do you hear of an opportunity for casters to work for you."
The King sighed, slightly frustrated. He turned to look at Mora. "What do you think, my Doll?"
Mora held the emotionless face of a doll, her fel eyes glancing down at the King when he spoke and back up to the mage as he had sold his charm. Her hand lifted to drag her fingers down the fur coat a few times as she stared Isaac down before she seemed to take a breath. "I think I trust you, my King," she finally said with a slow look back to the mage before them. "I am also hungry.."
The King turned to look at the mage and he grinned. "I should let you mingle with the Ratz and see what you think..." He glanced at Sarinna, who turned to look at him. "But it seems you want to be here on contract. Shame. I'm looking for a devotee, not a hired gun. Nonetheless..." he added with a breathy sigh, "I'll try you out, see what you can do. Sarinna, summon the Flea."
Teriaan watched the newcomer and then looked at Sarinna, along with the King, as the night elf reached for her ear. It was then that the Champion asked, "What do you have to offer the Kingdom?"
Isaac turned his head to look at the dark-haired elf. "Must I answer to the guard?"
"You answer to all of us," Sarinna added. Once more Isaac turned to look at the woman and then to the King.
With a smile, the King said, "Well? Answer the question."
"I can kill with my spells..."
"Of course you can kill with your spells! Any child learning magic knows how to defend themselves with spells that can kill. What do you offer my Kingdom?" the King's patience was getting tried.
"Um...spells...protection...power..."
A flash of light appeared and the Flea walked into the room. He bowed before the King and looked around. "Yes, my King?" the undead man called out. The human turned toward the undead, his mouth slightly agape.
Mora yawned slightly and moved to side sit on the arm of the throne as one leg saddled her rounded rump to the arm of it. Leaning over the back, she draped her hands over the shoulders of her King. She couldn't help but giggle when he asked if he must respond to Teriaan, but she watched to see why he was of value, the more so since he was going to be hired.
With the flash of light Mora's eyes narrowed slightly and she went back to being silent.
The King smacked his teeth and ignored what Isaac was saying. He saw the Flea arrive and his hand shifted toward Mora’s thigh, caressing her skin. “Flea, this is your pupil.”
The Flea furrowed his brows and looked at Isaac. “My...pupil?”
“Your student. Teach him what you know and let him shadow you.” The King looked at Isaac. “You have two days to learn it all. You will be taking my Doll on her errands.”
Sarinna looked at Mora, then to Teriaan, who smirked and covered his mouth to avoid laughing, then to the Flea, who looked confused. “My King, I’m sure our Queen would rather go with someone she’s familiar with.”
“You mean someone we trust? That trust has been broken, hasn’t it Flea?” The King turned to the Flea once more and the undead man simply stared at the King.
The king made it harder to concentrate, her unsteady eyes lured from the Flea and others to the way his hand teased her. The curve of her nose leaned into the side of the King’s head as one hand pulled up the other side, fingers slipping into the strands of his hair. A pleasurable sigh whispering through her closing eyes.
Mora trailed the tip of her nose up the King’s ear as she opened her eyes again and their piercing stare landed on Issac. With a more displeased groan, she sat up. "Kinnnngggy" she whined softly until it became a growl.
Sarinna sighed and shook her head. The King licked his lips when Mora began to give him attention. Isaac smirked as he watched this queen and the way she slithered around the King. Then he turned to look at the Flea.
"Flea, was it? I'm Isaac Terrefuocco, new mage for the Rat King. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do and learning your tricks. I'm always up for learning."
The Flea slowly turned to look at the human in their presence. He glanced away and turned to the King. "Are you sure this is wise, my King? An outsider learning all of your secrets seems highly...dangerous."
"We could use two mages. Or one..." the King chuckled. "I have spoken. Take care of this, Flea. Now." He waved them all away and he reached to grab Mora, pulling her onto his lap.
Mora smiled more as she was taken up and pulled onto her King’s lap, kissing his chin and neck as she settled in place, giggling as he spoke and leaning against him. She had so much to say, but the situation left her biting her tongue.
"My King..." Sarinna began, but the King stopped giving Mora attention to glare at Sarinna.
When Sarinna spoke up, Mora turned her head as well to look over the night elf "Are we not done yet? Hasn't he said he has spoken? What more could there be?"
Sarinna paused and backed down. She looked at the Flea who looked rather bothered by the King's edict. Nonetheless, he cleared his throat and said, "Teriaan, I suppose he is going to stay with us? Is there room in our place?"
Teriaan smiled. "He can sleep on a couch." With that, he walked out of the home and the Flea gestured for Isaac to follow. Isaac looked rather nervous as he followed the elf. As soon as the Flea left, Sarinna sighed and walked to the table.
"What is it, Sarinna?" the King said calmly, his attention fully on Mora as he kissed her chin.
"I know we have a plan, but this is too risky. I don't like him," the night elf declared.
"My Doll needs to be comfortable with her transportation. Obviously, the Flea wasn't cutting it." The King showered her with tender caresses and kisses. Sarinna sighed and shook her head.
"And if he gets too comfortable with her?" She didn't look at Mora. Mora's body eased up as the man left with the others, her smile more natural as her chin was kissed. Her forehead touched him. A silent "thank you" moved her lips in just a whisper in between kisses to his lips. Protectively holding on to him, her hands raked possessively but tenderly down his neck as she looked back to Sarinna who kept on. It wasn't like she disagreed with her, but the King had spoken.
"Then he dies. Right, my Doll?"
"He can die anytime anyone is unhappy with him as far as I am concerned. He means nothing to me. Kill him now, Sarinna, but then you will have to look for another. So it is up to you and how much you have on your plate. Jhon and I...we are not compatible right now "
The King squeezed Mora's thigh hard, ragged nails digging into her flesh. "Stop calling him by his name," he growled against her arm. "And yes, I have spoken, so shut the fuck up." For a moment, he seemed lost in his anger and he simply leaned back against the chair. The irritation was obvious. Sarinna sighed and walked away to her corner. It was pointless to argue with them when they were so adamant about where they stood in this situation.
Mora sneered a defensive snarl of jagged teeth to the King as he squeezed her thigh, though she nodded. It was a habit she would find very hard to break. Jhon was who he was to her… or was.
"Come, we can go back home for a bit, and you can kiss all my bruisies..." She smoothed his gripped hand to the thigh he was hurting. " We can have Bunny bring something...or we can send Loli. Sarinna. do you want to come?"
His grip loosened and he was back to caressing her thigh. He nodded at her and he was ready to get up. Sarinna shook her head. “I have things to do,” she muttered.
“Sarinna, you dare deny your Queen your company?” The King stood tall and stared the night elf down.
“I will go, my Queen.” Sarinna placed her papers down and walked toward the monarchs.
"No, no...its ok." She stood as the King did and took up his hand into her own. "If you don't want to, don't." Mora didn't look pleased but she didn't seem to push it. "Let's go." She let her hand slip from the King’s hand, and she walked to the front of the main house. Pushing the door open, she stepped outside and adjusted her eyes to the brightness of the sun. Looking around the open market and to the brothel before she looked toward the obscured cottage.
The King yelled inside the main house and the sound of a slap was heard. A few seconds later, the King stepped out and looked at the Kingdom. Sarinna appeared behind him, her head bowed, her violet hair falling over her face. “Come on,” he said to Mora. He walked down the steps, his arm available for Mora if she wanted to take it.
She took it without question, blatantly ignoring the sounds of yelling and possibly the slap. Now was not the time or place to call attention to it and she knew. Her arm hooked around the King’s as she leaned in closer to him. The three walked back to the cottage for breakfast.
