There was something particularly amusing to Alek about suddenly arriving back to Luxor, unexpectedly showing up at Isaac’s door, and attempting to be playfully nonchalant about the surprise despite his ecstatic reaction. The weeks leading up to her return, Alek had been enthusing to Isaac on the phone about various meditation techniques she had been practicing; telling him that he just had to try them out with her the next time they got to see each other. Isaac, of course, had no idea that the next time they would be seeing each other was only mere days away — the last time she had spoken to him about it literally being the night before.
Alek shifted into a more comfortable, seated position on the floor. Somehow, even despite the thrill, she managed to guide Isaac by his hands into his bedroom and onto the floor across from her, giggling, of course, the entire time. “Will you sit still?” She mused, giggling to herself even more, finding amusement in the fact that she was really trying to get him to sit still — to focus on absolutely nothing after offering him anything but a proper greeting at the door. “You have to put your hands like this.” She said, reaching out for a second time to try and get Isaac’s hands into Matangi Mudra. “And then close your eyes...” she said, still struggling with his fingers for a second before sitting back, effortlessly placing her own hands into the position and closing her eyes. “And listen to the sound of my voice...” she said soothingly, though, a small tinge of amusement seeping through.
