New Post, new folks as we take a look at some Surly Antagonists!
In Vice: We say hello to the rather angry and downright usually awful Cruun (he/him). He's not the cooperative sort nor is he the friendly kind, it's often hard to list what good attributes there are about him too. All he cares about is surviving and doing what he can to get out of any situation unharmed. Despite all that, he's the equivalent of a chihuahua: a bark too loud with no bite to back it up.
In Virtue: We say hello to the heiress Isabuu (she/her). As someone who refuses to acknowledge that she belongs in this world, returning to the old world remains her top priority. To ensure this, she tries to go over Dom to try and take control and push others to do her bidding. Isabuu feels ending up here was an error and she will get back no matter what, and what's a few promises along the way?
They utilize their Homunculus and Sprite to the best of their ability in this world, even if one side is a bit disappointed with theirs and the other finds their partner to debilitating to use.
Cruun's Homunculus, Sheepitch (he/him), is considered the weakest of all the Homunculus amongst both groups, a fact that only serves to feed into Cruun's fear. However, with this weakness comes a strength of its own as Sheepitch is able to impart his own fear and weakness into other monsters as well, dragging them down to his level.
Isabuu's Sprite, Sylfeh (she/her), acts as a great equalizer as well. The catch comes in how Isabuu needs to offer her body up as the bargain. By removing function of senses from Isabuu, Sylfeh is able to impart the same inability to a nearby monster. While powerful, Isabuu despises how she must give part of herself up to activate this power.
Both Cruun and Isabuu are quite combative in their respective groups. These two antagonists often butt heads the most with the protagonists. Cruun seems to be the literal opposite to Sarix, and Isabuu sees in Riki a malleable pawn to utilize. They often cross paths with our protagonists...
When they're not bothering the protagonists, the old adage 'misery loves company' holds true. These two have at least one 'friend' during these times they hang out the most with while trying to survive, and we'll meet them in the next post!
