ok so. my personal headcanon is that mal du pays is what siffrin would have turned into if the party hadn’t gotten there fast enough to wake him up. so. au time.

what if. what if. the party was just a little bit slower. and when they got to the king, expecting to find siffrin fighting him, they found a sadness. and not just any sadness. mal du pays. siffrin’s homesickness had overcome him and turned him into a husk of himself.
