♔—- It was not uncommon for the young God to hear murmurs and whispers. At a younger age, when it first started, it frightened him greatly. Loki didn’t understand what the murmurs were and, of course, he feared for his sanity. Only the insane heard voices in their heads.
Only after years of focusing on these voices--as well as some help from other deities, like his mother, for example--did he realize that the voices were not inside of his mind, but gentle brushes against his subconscious. Some were nothing more than hushed voices that could not be made out into coherent sentences but others were louder and much more clear. Those that were clear were usually offering him praise or asking for guidance.
Eventually he learned that these were prayers.
As a God, this was normal. His mother heard them. His father heard them. Even Thor heard them. They could act on any of these and answer them if they wanted to. Loki made a habit of it, if a certain prayer really stood out to him. Answering prayers was an exciting experience for him and he enjoyed it.
That was something entirely different and Loki had never experienced it before. Being ripped from his home on Asgard and dragged across realms to appear before someone he was not familiar with was not only an inconvenience, it was actually quite frightening. No one had ever had so much power over him before, and he wasn’t sure that he liked the feeling. Could anyone do this? Could anyone summon him at any given time and pull him from his life to stand before them? Or did it take a special sort of person?
His bright emerald eyes were wide for a moment, but as they fixated on the woman before him, he narrowed his eyes at her. There was a flash of anger, mixed with curiosity and a barely noticeable twinge of fear. This was new to him, something that never happened before, and he had every right to be fearful.
“Who are you?” Loki asked her. He didn’t move, but he did cross his arms over his chest. “And where have you brought me? Most importantly, why have you brought me here? What purpose do you have for this?”
She had to be the person who was responsible for this. There was no one else around.
